They replace the butterfly clasp on the back of your pin. Insert the small black screw with the small allen key which is included with the 2 locks, tighten it up around the pin of your badge - and it will stop your pin badge dropping off when out and about.
These pin locks are a small (5mm) solid brass plated locks, which protect against them getting rusty.
